JUSTIN KOH
I spent my high school years at St. Michael’s Preparatory School. I have made good friends, been taught by really nice teachers and priests, and last but not least, I had a great and generous headmaster!

The thing I liked best about St. Michaels was its size. It is because of its small size that I was able to receive the special attention I could not have received if I had been at another school.

Like every high school there are many different subjects taught at St. Michael’s. I especially liked that it offered something no public school offers and that is Religion. Religion is important because it teaches us about God and our relationship with God. It also focuses on making us “Men of God For Others.” To me, St. Michael’s is a good school because there are so many opportunities for us to praise God: in the morning before we do anything else we pray, we pray at the start of every class, we pray before lunch, and at the end of the day during Holy Hour we pray. That time also gives us a chance to confess our sins, to pray the rosary, or to meditate on scripture. St. Michael’s also taught me how to distinguish in my actions what’s right and what’s wrong. All in all, I learned a lot about my Catholic faith through studying the Scriptures and Ethics.

I thank my parents for sending me to St Michael’s. At St. Michael’s I found good friends. St. Michael’s teachers have taught me a lot. I could always ask questions if I was unclear. I could get help every day after school. I would like to thank Mr. Tomescu, my favorite math teacher, for taking an hour of his time after school to help anyone who comes to him for math help. I would also like to thank Fr. Gabriel because he has helped me so much and Fr. Claude who always looked after me.
